Well, we finally have our feet back on the ground as we arrived in Santiago, Chile a few hours ago. It took us over 30 hours to travel from Utah to here, due to weather delays, aircraft mechanical issues, and a ground crew that forgot to fuel our plane for its 10 hour flight from Atlanta to Santiago. (By the way it was colder in Atlanta, GA than in Antarctica) We had a very short tour of the city here because of our long delays and tonight we are holed up on the 16th floor of the beautiful Santiago Radisson Hotel, overlooking this huge metropolis. Since we are going to be awakened by a 5:30AM call to get packed and prepare to leave for the coast and finally rendezvous with our cruise ship, we aren't going to be able to make this a long post or add any photos of today's activities. Hopefully, tomorrow night when we are finally settled into our stateroom aboard the Holland America Zaandam, things will be more relaxed and we'll have time to organize ourselves and our thoughts. By the way, daughter Juli is responsible for setting up the design and layout of our Blog. Didn't she do a great job!!!! We love you all and look forward to sharing more of this adventure with all of you during the next four weeks. Bon Voyage. Tom & Marla
It was so nice to look at your blog and see that you had a brief moment to let us know you made it safe. I had a few phone calls today wondering if I had heard anything. Sounds like it has already been an adventure, can't wait to hear more! Love you both so much and pray for your safe journey and return home.

What a fun adventure for you two! I'll enjoy reading about it all in the days ahead. Julie did a great job on the blog.
